A new campaign, our Faculty Flashback aims to give students an insight into professors’ lives and experiences. For our first post, we had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Jeffrey Podoshen, a Lecturer in Marketing here at RSBC. Here’s what he had to say:
What was your favorite thing about college? Learning about so many interesting and novel aspects of Marketing from my passionate professors. Also, I loved getting to know people from so many different walks of life on campus.
What do you wish you knew back then? Getting an internship before graduation helps you better understand what you might like and not like to do. An internship also helps you gain a better job when you graduate.
What is a piece of advice for students today? You might not fall in love with your first job after graduation but learn as much as you can from as many knowledgeable people as you can. Focus on the skills you can gather and find any mentors you might be able to find.
What is your most effective study tip? For quantitative classes, an effective study tip is to create your own problems that relate to the assigned material and then solve them. Self-testing will help you retain the information better than just studying it.
