Master of Science in Business Analytics

Essential Skills for a Digital World.

This 30-credit Master’s program will show you how to employ various software programs, such as R, Python, and SQL, to analyze business data. Coursework can be taken fully online or in-person on campus. The on-campus modality is STEM-designated.

A 12-credit Business Analytics Certificate program is also available. 

The Data on MSBA

The MSBA Program is comprised of ten courses, including four (4) required courses and six (6) electives. Through coursework, students acquire knowledge of statistics, machine learning techniques, and relevant software, such as:

Think of the MSBA as a degree for the future. Going forward, the edge in business belongs to those who can find managerial insights hidden in customer, firm, and marketplace data. The MSBA program puts you at the vanguard of this emerging field. It will teach you techniques for extracting, collecting, cleaning, describing, segmenting, modeling, predicting, and reporting data.

Applicants who have been educated outside the United States, please see the application process for graduate international students and review English proficiency requirements below.

*Tuition rates for Fall 2022 are set in June. International Students are considered “out of state.” 

Currently, RSBC offers scholarships for international applicants for the On-Campus MBA and the On-Campus MSBA. An official GMAT or GRE score must be submitted for any scholarship consideration. More information on the requirements can be found at: https://business.camden.rutgers.edu/graduate/internationalscholarships/ 

Steps to Apply

In response to COVID-19, the Rutgers School of Business–Camden has decided to waive the GMAT/GRE standardized test score requirement for all graduate program applicants, effective now through Fall 2022.

  1. Complete the Graduate Admissions Application.
  2. Pay the non-refundable application fee of $70.00.
  3. Applicants with international degrees are not required to have their educational credentials evaluated by a NACES evaluating agency. Applicants should submit original or certified (notarized) copies of all post-secondary transcripts, marksheets, examination results, diplomas, and degrees. If not issued in English, a translation must be provided from a professional translation agency. 

    Please note that the Rutgers School of Business–Camden (RSBC) reserves the right to request an applicant to have their transcript evaluated by a NACES accredited agency. RSBC will reach out to the applicant with this request. For a list of NACES agencies, go to:  http://naces.org/members.htm 

    If applicants already have an advanced degree from the U.S., applicants will be required to submit an official copy of the advanced degree as well as the official transcripts of their bachelor’s degree. 

    Selected three-year bachelor’s degrees from India may be considered equivalent to a U. S. bachelor’s degree without an evaluation, if they have been earned in Division I/First Class and the awarding institution is currently accredited by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a letter grade of “A” or better.

  4. Submit proof of English language proficiency, if your undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country. Rutgers-Camden accepts:
    TOEFL: 550 PBT/ 79 IBT
    IELTS: 6.0
    Completion of a pre-approved intensive English language program. 
  5. Submit your supporting materials: two letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and your CV or resume.

BLDP Application

The Fall 2022 Application is now open! 

Priority will be given to applications received by July 31. Applications are accepted until all seats are filled. Space is limited, so apply early!

The seminar application process is our gateway for entry into the program. Upon acceptance into BLDP, students will be emailed their acceptance letter plus a special permission number allowing registration for the BLDP seminar.

Requirements

Seminar applications are solicited each semester and require the following:

  1. Completed application form (at the bottom of this page),
  2. Personal essay
  3. Two (2) letters of recommendation (one academic; one other)

Rutgers-Camden students are invited to apply to apply for enrollment in the BLDP seminar. All applicants are expected to meet both of the following selection criteria:  (1) have sophomore standing or above and (2) have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. First-semester transfer students will be evaluated based on their GPA earned at Rutgers. Students who fail to meet these admission criteria may still be allowed to apply for (and possibly enroll in) the BLDP seminar, but they will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The director balances evaluations to make final decisions on people accepted for the seminar (up to a maximum of 15-20 each semester).

Students who are admitted to the BDLP are required to adopt the BLDP Code of Conduct. A signed contract is required from each student.

Students may count activities toward “leadership units” that were initiated prior to taking a seminar, as long as those activities occured primarily during their enrollment in their academic program.
