New Faculty Announcement

This fall, we are delighted to welcome four new faculty members across the areas of Accounting, Management, and Marketing. Drs. Huan, Pansari, Paul, and Qu faculty have excelled in their respective fields and bring with them years of experience, unique perspectives, and impactful research that will enrich our community. We are also excited that Dr. Schiro Withanachchi has joined our leadership team as our Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs.

Dr. Hao Qu

Dr. Hao Qu joins RSBC as an Assistant Professor of Accounting. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Rochester, where he also obtained a Master of Science in Applied Economics. Dr. Qu’s research focuses on the intersection of firm disclosure, financial markets, corporate governance, and the integration of emerging technologies in accounting. His work has been published in esteemed journals, such as the Journal of Information Systems and Public Finance Review. Before entering academia, Dr. Qu gained several years of professional experience in the accounting and consulting industry. He holds both the CPA and ACCA (FCCA) licenses and worked for four years as a senior auditor and tax technology consultant at Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Dr. Ximin (Natalie) Huang

In fall 2025, Dr. Natalie Huang will serve as an Assistant Professor of Management at RSBC. After she earned her Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, she previously taught at the University of Minnesota for over eight years and received high praise from her peers and students. Dr. Huang’s research mainly focuses on sustainable operations and operations management, with work published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Production and Operations Management. Specifically, she analyzes and explores how sustainable operations can be achieved through various strategic and operational approaches. Dr. Huang is also an active member of the academic community, contributing to organizations, such as INFORMS, MSOM, and POMS.

Dr. Schiro Withanachchi

Dr. Schiro Withanachchi serves the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and a Professor of Professional Practice of Management at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden (RSBC). Before joining Rutgers, Dr. Withanachchi served as Associate Dean and faculty member at the School of Business at Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY), for over 15 years. As a dedicated academic leader with extensive experience in higher education, international collaboration, quantitative analysis, and diversity initiatives, she has committed her career to student success and empowering students to thrive. Her academic work has also been cited in several scholarly books, including the Institutional, Economic, and Social Impacts of Globalization and Liberalization, Managing and Using Information Systems: A Strategic Approach, and Annals of Cases on Information Technology (ACIT). Her research has also been featured in various conference proceedings, including those of the Academy of International Business, the Centre for Business & Economic Research (CBER), the ICCAGE Conference on Intercultural Communicative Competence, and the International Association for Business and Society.

Dr. Anita Pansari

Dr. Anita Pansari is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at RSBC. Prior to joining Rutgers, she was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Michigan State University, where she lectured on various topics, such as digital marketing and new product management. Dr. Pansari’s research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and the Journal of International Marketing. In addition to her academic contributions, she actively contributes to the scholarly community by serving as a reviewer for various journals and participating in doctoral committees to mentor future scholars.

Dr. Iman Paul
Assistant Professor of Marketing

Dr. Iman Paul joins RSBC as an Assistant Professor of Marketing. He earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from the Georgia Institute of Technology and, most recently, taught at Montclair State University, where he lectured MBA courses, such as Applied Marketing Management and New Product Development. His research focuses on societal well-being, public policy, and consumer experiences with AI and smart devices. Dr. Paul has published and presented his work in leading journals and conferences, including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, and Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Paul held leadership roles as a Business Manager at renowned organizations, such as Johnson & Johnson and DTC Perspectives.

BLDP Application

The Spring 2023 Application is now open! 

Priority will be given to applications received by November 18. Applications are accepted until all seats are filled. Space is limited, so apply early!

The seminar application process is our gateway for entry into the program. Upon acceptance into BLDP, students will be emailed their acceptance letter plus a special permission number allowing registration for the BLDP seminar.

Requirements

Seminar applications are solicited each semester and require the following:

  1. Completed application form (at the bottom of this page),
  2. For students with GPA 3.0 – 3.49, two (2) letters of recommendation (one academic; one other)

Rutgers-Camden students are invited to apply to apply for enrollment in the BLDP seminar. All applicants are expected to meet both of the following selection criteria:  (1) have sophomore standing or above and (2) have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. First-semester transfer students will be evaluated based on their GPA earned at Rutgers. Students who fail to meet these admission criteria may still be allowed to apply for (and possibly enroll in) the BLDP seminar, but they will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The director balances evaluations to make final decisions on people accepted for the seminar (up to a maximum of 15-20 each semester).

Students who are admitted to the BDLP are required to adopt the BLDP Code of Conduct. A signed contract is required from each student.

Students may count activities toward “leadership units” that were initiated prior to taking a seminar, as long as those activities occured primarily during their enrollment in their academic program.
