
Under the leadership of Dr. Rakesh Sambharya, Professor and Area Head, the nine faculty members of the Strategy, International Business, and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) area continue to thrive as a hub of academic excellence and innovation. Over the past academic year, the SIBE faculty published numerous articles in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals, contributing valuable insights to their fields. Notably, Dr. Tom Fewer, Assistant Professor, was honored with the Faculty Excellence Award for Research for his article published in the Academy of Management Journal – a testament to the caliber of scholarship within the area.
Recognizing the importance and relevance of global sustainability, Drs. Rakesh Sambharya, Murad Mithani, and Deeksha Singh are examining how multinational enterprises address the impact of palm oil production and consumption on deforestation and biodiversity loss in the food, cosmetics, and biofuel industries.
In addition to their research achievements, the SIBE faculty are deeply committed to teaching excellence, ensuring students understand and can employ the complex in real-world contexts. This year, Dr. Deeksha Singh, Associate Professor, was recognized with the Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award for Tenured and Tenure-Track Faculty, highlighting her outstanding contributions in the classroom.
