Mr. Steve Selfridge (SBC’79), recently retired President of the Government Services Group of Day & Zimmerman) and a member of the Rutgers School of Business–Camden Dean’s Leadership Council, will serve as RSBCs Executive-in-Residence, effective Fall 2023. As a resident of South Jersey, Steve is excited about serving the school in this capacity. During the Fall semester, Steve will spend several days each month on campus engaging with and guiding SBC students through their Rutgers journey. His initial engagements will focus on engaging with undergraduate students, supporting the re-envisioning of the Business Leader Development Program (BLDP), and engaging with the Office of the Dean on external partnerships.
Steve is a seasoned executive with impressive global experience in leading multi-million-dollar businesses across six continents. He has elevated businesses to new heights of success, spearheading high-impact strategic plans. He has optimized product lines and operations; has identified and capitalized on both buy and sell M&A opportunities; and has generated support from investors, community, and public and private entities. Steve is known for building and leading high-performance multinational teams, as well as uniting stakeholders at all levels toward common missions and goals.
In 2023, Steve retired from Day & Zimmermann (D&Z), where he served as the President of their Government Services Business. He is currently an advisor for the Executive Leaders Advisory Board, assisting companies at all stages of growth. Prior to that, he was VP of Corporate Development/Strategy for D&Z. D&Z specializes in construction/engineering, staffing, and defense. His resume also includes being the CFO of Unirisx LLC, a multi-national SAAS provider in insurance; CFO, COO, President, and CEO of Acsis, Inc, a global software company connecting people, devices, and supply chains; and CFO and COO of Checkpoint Systems Inc, an international supplier of radio frequency-based retail security solutions. Steve serves on multiple boards in distinctly different industries, including for profit and non-profit organizations.
Steve has won numerous awards and accolades, including “Entrepreneur of the Year” Finalist – Ernst & Young – Acsis; “Top 10 Award” for being an outstanding alumnus – Rutgers University School of Business; “1 of the Finest Award” as one of Top 50 graduates at Rutgers–Camden 50th Anniversary; “Rutgers Service Award” for supporting the Camden Campus and School of Business; Inc.’s “1 of the Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies of the Year” – Acsis and Checkpoint; and “Price Waterhouse’s Company to Watch” – Acsis, among others.
