- Program and Grad Year: BA Class of 1978
- Company: Alloy Silverstein
Ren Cicalese of Medford is celebrating 50 years since his first class at Rutgers School of Business–Camden. Graduating in May 1978 with a BA in Business Management and an Accounting concentration, Ren balanced work, sports, and academics, completing 96 credits in just 30 months. During his time at Rutgers, he played varsity baseball, earning an MVP award in 1977, and built friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
Ren credits his experience at RSBC—including classes, work, and sports—for developing the discipline that prepared him for his career. Today, he serves as Managing Shareholder at Alloy Silverstein, where he has been associated for over 46 years.
Recently, Ren returned to campus for the Meet the Firms recruitment event, reflecting on his journey from an ambitious student in 1976 to a leader in the accounting field. He shared his experience with aspiring accounting professionals, emphasizing the transformative impact of a Rutgers–Camden education, resilience, and the importance of a supportive community.
“To the students beginning this journey: embrace the abundant opportunities, nurture your curiosity, and remember, each interaction can shape your future,” Ren said.
