Dr. Yuliya Strizhakova Promoted to Professor at Rutgers School of Business–Camden


Congratulations to Dr. Yuliya Strizhakova on her promotion to Professor at Rutgers University!
Since joining the Rutgers School of Business–Camden in 2009, Dr. Strizhakova has established herself as a leading scholar in global marketing and consumer behavior. Her research explores globalization and branding in developed and emerging markets, global citizenship and cultural identity, environmentally responsible consumption, consumer well-being, and the ways consumers respond to service failures and negative marketplace experiences. Through this work, she has contributed valuable insights into how culture, identity, emotions, and marketplace interactions shape consumer decision-making across diverse international contexts.
Dr. Strizhakova’s scholarship has earned widespread recognition within the marketing discipline. Her research has been published in many of the field’s most respected journals, including the Journal of International Marketing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Service Research, and International Marketing Review. Her influential work on local and global branding, consumer cultural identity, and emerging markets has helped advance understanding of consumer behavior in an increasingly interconnected global marketplace.
Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Strizhakova received the prestigious S. Tamer Cavusgil Award from the American Marketing Association for her article examining the drivers of local versus global brand purchases. Her scholarship has also received international recognition through the Emerald Citations of Excellence Award, and her work on materialism, sustainability, and global cultural identity was recognized as the most cited article published in the International Journal of Research in Marketing during its review period.
In addition to her research contributions, Dr. Strizhakova has demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and service throughout her career. She has taught a wide range of marketing courses, served on numerous School of Business committees, and remained actively engaged with leading professional organizations, including the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research, and the Society for Consumer Psychology. Further, she currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Global Marketingand the Journal of International Marketing.
