FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Our courses are open to all aspiring CPA candidates.
Due to a generous grant from the Daniel J. Ragone family, these courses are available at no charge to Rutgers students and alumni. For current students, you must either be an undergraduate with 90 or more credit hours in accounting or enrolled in the online Master of Accounting (Macc) program. Eligible alumni include undergraduate accounting majors and Online MAcc or Professional MAC alumni.
Non-Rutgers participants can enroll in the program at a cost significantly less expensive than most programs delivered by private CPA review courses.
Three modules (FAR, REG, and AUD) will be offered between May and December (no courses currently scheduled of the first quarter of the calendar year to accommodate the increased workload associated with the accounting profession). Each module is eight weeks long and is delivered synchronously on Tuesday evenings between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Class sessions are recorded and can be accessed asynchronously for up to one year after the delivery.

For Rutgers students and alumni, there is no instructional fee for the modules in the program. However, each module has an online textbook from materials provider, Gleim Publishers; the estimated cost is $115.00 for the basic package and $299 for the premium package. Textbook costs are the responsibility of the student.
For non-Rutgers students, material costs are built into the registration fee.
The RSBC CPA prep class is meant to provide knowledge of the module topic and also a moderate amount of test strategy. It is a less intensive version of traditional CPA review courses, such as Becker CPA Exam Prep or Roger CPA Review. The RSBC program uses GLEIM texts and test banks to supplement preparation for the exam.
Attendance is not mandatory; however, to get the most out of the modules, regular attendance is encouraged.
No, the CPA Review Program is a non-credit program. Academic credit is not awarded and it will not appear on a transcript.
Follow the correct path that corresponds to your status (i.e., Rutgers Student/Alumni or Non-Rutgers Student or Alumni). Your status as a student or alumni will be validated in order to receive the Ragone-funded complimentary rate (i.e., free).
The course is managed through Canvas. In order that we can track you after your graduation, you will register under your personal email account, not your NetID, as you do as a current student when accessing a Canvas course.
