On Campus MSBA Student Highlight: Sakib Mahmud

Meet Sakib Mahmud, a graduate student pursuing his MSBA at Rutgers School of Business–Camden. Drawn by RSBC’s strong reputation, career-focused curriculum, and supportive faculty, Sakib chose the program because its emphasis on business analytics and supply chain management aligns perfectly with his professional goals.

Balancing graduate studies with other commitments hasn’t always been easy—but Sakib approaches it with intention and discipline. “Setting clear priorities, planning ahead, and breaking big tasks into smaller steps helps me stay consistent,” he shares. “And protecting time for rest is just as important as getting work done.”

For Sakib, one of the most meaningful parts of his Rutgers experience has been the mentorship and encouragement he’s received from faculty. “Professors genuinely care about students’ growth. They go beyond the classroom to share career insights and real-world applications,” he says. “Working collaboratively on group projects and connecting through student organizations has also built a strong sense of community and belonging.”

As an international student, Sakib has faced challenges navigating internships and job opportunities due to visa restrictions—but he’s turned those challenges into motivation. “Persistence, networking, and leveraging the support of faculty and career services have been key,” he reflects.

Looking ahead, Sakib plans to build a career in supply chain and operations, applying analytics to drive efficiency and innovation. He hopes to join a leadership development program that supports long-term growth and impact. “I’m excited to keep growing my skills in analytics and technology to become an innovative, data-driven supply chain professional.”
