Online MBA Student Highlight: Kristina Sofchak
- Rutgers Grad Year: May 2026
- Major: Online MBA
- High School: Burlington Township High School
Kristina Sofchak is a graduate student at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden from Burlington Township, currently pursuing her online Master of Business Administration.
Kristina has an impressive and unique background. She learned to fly planes and, in 2019, was deployed to Afghanistan as a Medevac pilot. During this time, she made the thoughtful decision to pause her education, choosing to focus fully on one demanding career path at a time.
She returned to Rutgers School of Business–Camden to continue her education because of the University’s strong alumni network and the opportunity to build meaningful professional connections. As an undergraduate at Rutgers, Kristina formed a close bond with her advisor, Christine Ulch, who previously served in the Air Force. One of Kristina’s most memorable experiences was having the opportunity to fly Christine in her helicopter — a moment that reflects the strong relationships and shared experiences that shape her Rutgers journey.
When it comes to balancing school, work, and life, Kristina relies on thoughtful planning and flexibility. She maps out major commitments in advance and works backward to stay on track, while leaving space for the unexpected. Lists help her stay organized during the workday and ensure she builds in time for self-care. Kristina enjoys starting her mornings early with stretching, going for walks, or catching up with friends.
After completing her MBA, Kristina hopes to step away from flying duties and pursue a PhD program or work more closely with her current organization. She is especially interested in improving programs, educating others, and organizing large-scale events.
We are proud to support students like Kristina, who bring leadership, dedication, and service into the classroom while pursuing their academic and professional goals.
