Course Waiver Policy for MBA Programs
Students who apply to the MBA Program (not applicable to PMBA or MS/MBA dual enrollment programs) can apply for a potential course waiver(s). Waivers may be granted for up to 6-credits (two courses).
Coursework must be taken at an accredited four-year college or university in the period covering the last ten (10) calendar years from the start of the MBA Program at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden. Course waiver requests must be submitted for evaluation before the start of the MBA Program.
Please note that we are not able to grant course waivers for on-the-job experience, work-related training courses, or courses taken at a community college.
Accounting for Managerial Decisions: has the potential to be waived if student has one of the following conditions:
- Completed an undergraduate Bachelor’s (or Master’s) Accounting degree.
- Completed two undergraduate courses in Cost Accounting (or Intermediate Accounting II) and Managerial Accounting with a grade of B or better.
- Earned CPA license.
Financial Management: has the potential to be waived if student has one of the following conditions:
- Completed an undergraduate Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Finance .
- Completed two undergraduate finance courses with a grade of B or better.
Foundations of Leadership & Teamwork: has the potential to be waived if student has one of the following conditions:
- Completed an undergraduate Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Organizational Behavior or Human Resource.
- Completed two undergraduate courses, including one Organizational Behavior and one HR/Leadership related course, with a grade of B or better.
IT Strategy & Project Management: has the potential to be waived if student has one of the following conditions:
- Completed one undergraduate project management course and one IT strategy course with a grade of B or better.
- Completed one course in IT strategy with a grade of B or better and an industry certification (for example: certified project manager).
Marketing Management: has the potential to be waived if student has one of the following conditions:
- Completed an undergraduate Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Marketing.
- Completed two undergraduate Marketing courses with a grade of B or better.
Operations & Supply Chain Management: has the potential to be waived if student has one of the following conditions:
- Completed an undergraduate Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management.
- Completed two undergraduate courses in Operations Management with a grade of B or better.
- Completed two undergraduate courses in Supply Chain with a grade of B or better.
- Completed one Operations Management course and one Supply Chain course with a grade of B or better.
*NOTE: The following courses will not count towards the waiver: Management Science, Operations Research, or Decision Support Systems.
