Students come from a variety of academic backgrounds, including business, engineering, social sciences, and arts and humanities. No. While work experience is highly recommended prior to entering the MBA, strong applicants are admitted directly from undergraduate programs.
Curriculum and Course Requirements
Fourteen (14) three-credit courses are required to complete the 42-credit program. It is possible to waive up to six credits and transfer in an additional six credits, based upon previous academic work. At least 10 courses (30 credit hours) in the MBA program must be taken at RutgersโCamden.
The MBA program is comprised of three parts consisting of fourteen (14) required courses: (5) Core courses, (5) Business Application courses, and (4) Electives courses.ย In addition, we have three, no cost Introductory Seminars: Excel, The Story of Business (Accounting), and Managerial Economics.ย These are non-credit, preparatory, web-based seminars to help you prepare for the MBA curriculum.
Students can transfer up to 6 credits for previous graduate work, provided the following criteria has been met:
a. The graduate school where the work was complete was AACSB accredited.
b. A grade of B or better was received.
c. Course was a minimum of 3 credits.
d. Course must be approved by the associate dean of graduate studies/programs.
Students who apply to the Online MBA or On Campus MBA program can apply for a course waiver(s). Waivers may be granted for up to 6-credits (two courses). Course work must be taken at an accredited four-year college or university in the period covering last ten (10) calendar years. The 10-year time limit applies to when the course was completed and not the program completion and is applied to when the student is starting the program.

Class Schedule
- During the Fall and Spring semesters, classes meet one night per week (Monday through Thursday) from 6:00-8:50pm. Occasionally, we offer Saturday classes.

Application Process
For domestic students, applications are due by December 1 for spring, May 1 for summer and August 1 for fall. For international students, the deadlines are October 1 for spring and June 1 for fall.
Applicants can apply online at Graduate Admissions.
Along with the submitted application and $70 application fee, we require:
- Official transcript from each post-secondary school attended
- Four-year bachelorโs degree or its equivalent (120 credits) from an accredited university or institution.ย
- Transcripts must be in English, show the title of the degree earned, the date the degree was conferred, the Cumulative GPA, and the Credit Hours earned.ย

- Unofficial transcripts can be used for admissions review. Upon admittance to the program, you will need to supply official transcripts.
- Letters of recommendation (2): Contact information for references may be submitted through the online Application Portal. Recommenders will submit letters directly to RutgersโCamden.ย

Students will need to submit proof of English language proficiency, if their undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country. RutgersโCamden accepts the following documentation:ย

Official Transcriptsย
Official transcripts are required from each post-secondary school attended. Undergraduate transcripts must be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelorโs degree from an accredited institution, showing 120 credits.ย
ALL transcripts MUST be in English and include the following information:ย
- Accreditation status of the institutionย
- Title of the degree earnedย
- Date the degree was conferredย
- Cumulative GPAย
- Credit hours earnedย
Please Note: If your transcript does not meet the above criteria, Rutgers School of BusinessโCamden (RSBC)โฏREQUIRES a course-by-course evaluation, including the above information and transcripts, from a NACES accredited agency.ย ย
The purpose of the credential evaluation report is to accurately convert each of your course grades and the cumulative GPA (CGPA) to the U.S. grade equivalencies and to validate the authenticity of the documents. This eliminates the need to obtain official, English translated documents/transcripts from your home institution(s) to the U.S. university, saving you time and money.ย

Rutgers School of BusinessโCamden (RSBC) reserves the right to request an applicant to have their transcript evaluated by a NACES accredited agency.ย
GMAT/GRE standardized test scores are NOT required for applicants to graduate programs at RSBC.ย However, you are highly encouraged to submit GMAT/GRE scores if:ย ย
- Your four-year undergraduate cumulative GPA is less than 2.75,ย ย
- And/or you have less than 3 years of full-time work experience.ย
Currently, RSBC offers scholarships for international applicants for the On Campus MBA and the On Campus MSBA. We accept a very limited number of exceptional non-matriculated students during spring/fall. Non-matriculated students are required to complete an application and submit all supporting materials except the GMAT by the appropriate application deadline. Students may take up to four courses total over one regular semester (Fall or Spring) and/or during Summer and Winterim sessions as a non-matriculated student. After that, in order for students to continue taking classes, non-matriculated students must submit an acceptable standardized test score to the MBA department to matriculate into the MBA program.
The following factors are important determinants of admission:
- Undergraduate institution, GPA and major area of study
- Work experience and potential for leadership
- TOEFL scores (if schooled outside the U.S.)
- Goals for pursing the MBA degree
A weakness in one aspect of the application can be offset by strengths in other areas.
Deferrals are granted only for a full academic year, from one fall semester to the very next fall semester, with the exception of students leaving for military service. A deferral is official only when you are notified that the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions has granted your request. ย
