You may mix courses from fall and spring to create a three-credit elective course for your program. These courses are open to MBA (except PMBA), MSBA, and MAcc students.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Part I
Industries from Healthcare to Logistics to Pharma to Manufacturing to Government are using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) to meet the ever-increasing demand to improve operational performance. These skills can be used across all functions in their organizations, making it suitable for front-line workers, supervisors, managers, and executives. This course is designed to introduce the concepts, tools and strategies associated with LSS that will enable learners to participate as valued members of LSS teams that organizations are currently deploying.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training Certificate Part II
This course is designed for practical application of the concepts, tools, and strategies learned in “Part I – LSS Green Belt Training” and includes the implementation of a real-world process improvement project, with the coaching of a Rutgers Black Belt throughout the project. The completed project from this course can be included in a learning portfolio that you share with current or future employers.

Data Visualization with Tableau
In this course, you will be introduced to the field of data visualization and the various tools Tableau Public offers. Through concepts and exercises, you will learn to identify datasets to connect to, explore, analyze, filter and structure your data to create your desired visualizations.

Prompt Engineering and Generative AI for Professionals
ChatGPT is one of many Generative AI tools that are being integrated into the workplace of the 21st century. This course is designed to prepare you for success in the workplace by providing deep, hands-on knowledge of prompt engineering – the process of structuring text that can be interpreted and understood by a generative AI model – a critical skill being applied across almost all job functions in today’s workplace. This hands-on, project-abased course will enhance your ability to perform your job more efficiently and effectively while supporting your career growth. You will tackle real-world challenges and learn to craft persuasive, compelling prompts that drive action and inspire change.

Business Process Redesign
The pace of change in the business world brought on through rapid changes in technology and the globalization of the business landscape has accelerated to the point where initiatives capable of achieving performance improvements cannot keep up. Breakthrough performance gains are the only way to equal or exceed these changes. These performance gains can be achieved through the redesign of existing processes, which recognize the fit between the work, the “worker,” and the culture of the organization. Business process redesign is a holistic, systematic approach that can lay the groundwork to achieve performance gains that will increase the probability an organization will create a sustainable future for itself.

Sales Methods and Tools (Using Salesforce)
This course introduces structured sales frameworks, the strategy behind sales, and an overview of different sales methodologies that you can rely upon for repeatable success in the field. You will obtain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools that companies are looking for in new hires and for promoting internal candidates as you acquire and apply skills in prospecting, managing the sales pipeline, customer relationship management, and developing winning sales pitches.

Up to three courses may be waived based upon courses completed at the undergraduate level, based on the Course Waiver Policy. This could lower the workload to 36 credits. In the curriculum, you can use three of your four electives to fulfill the requirements to earn a Certificate within your course of study to specialize your degree.

Rutgers School of Business-Camden’s (RSBC) traditional on-campus MBA program requires students to take courses (core and business application) on-campus (except for summer term).  Students can mix on-campus courses with online elective courses during fall and spring.  RSBC policy states that if a required core or business application course is offered on-campus and the student has not taken the course (and is eligible to take), the student must take the course on campus.  A two-year course carousel is available to map students course schedule.

The Rutgers School of Business–Camden, including all its undergraduate and graduate programs, is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Why is this important? Because it ensures that schools maintain rigorous quality standards, which are recognized by top employers worldwide.

If I am chosen and matched with an executive, I will follow through and prepare a one-page report giving honest feedback about the experience. The written summary is due by the start of the next semester. By typing my name in the box to the right I am offering my digital signature in lieu of my handwritten signature.

After the shadowing event, I will write a personal thank you letter to the executive and copy Dr. Kaufman-Scarborough and Ms. Bridget Britton for their records. By typing my name in the box to the right I am offering my digital signature in lieu of my handwritten signature.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

After notified of a match, students are responsible for providing personal information to the matched executive (e.g., current resume and cover letter with information on career ambitions). The information on this application is for internal use only, for us to match you as well as possible with and executive from among our alumni database.

BLDP Application

The Spring 2023 Application is now open!

Priority will be given to applications received by November 18. Applications are accepted until all seats are filled. Space is limited, so apply early!

The seminar application process is our gateway for entry into the program. Upon acceptance into BLDP, students will be emailed their acceptance letter plus a special permission number allowing registration for the BLDP seminar.

Requirements

Seminar applications are solicited each semester and require the following:

  1. Completed application form (at the bottom of this page),
  2. For students with GPA 3.0 – 3.49, two (2) letters of recommendation (one academic; one other)

Rutgers-Camden students are invited to apply to apply for enrollment in the BLDP seminar. All applicants are expected to meet both of the following selection criteria:  (1) have sophomore standing or above and (2) have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. First-semester transfer students will be evaluated based on their GPA earned at Rutgers. Students who fail to meet these admission criteria may still be allowed to apply for (and possibly enroll in) the BLDP seminar, but they will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The director balances evaluations to make final decisions on people accepted for the seminar (up to a maximum of 15-20 each semester).

Students who are admitted to the BDLP are required to adopt the BLDP Code of Conduct. A signed contract is required from each student.

Students may count activities toward “leadership units” that were initiated prior to taking a seminar, as long as those activities occured primarily during their enrollment in their academic program.

Application for Admission to BLDP Seminar

Applications for the BLDP Seminar will be ongoing until class is filled.
